Lights in the Sky

Its a little amazing to look back on the this project, begun back in 2005, and realise that it was a "Transmedia" project before the word had even been invented - but thats getting ahead of the game.

The Aurora Effect blog will be used by myself - Mike Marinos and Mark Richards to chronicle the Aurora Effect as its weaves around Tasmania.

The Aurora Effect is a combination of community arts training in storytelling skills using drawing, visual narrative and claymation and local history project to collect local stories and produce comics and other media based on those stories.

Since 2005 over 50 workshops have been carried out around Tasmania in schools, libraries, and online access centres by Mark and the Art of Comics. We have had a great time, learnt a lot about preparing and delivering short media training courses, refined the project a hundred time until its has become something manageable and got to learn that there is a life time of stories in Tasmania.

So, 10 locations around Tasmania to fully explain the Aurora Effect.
